This past weekend, Rio’s Museu do Amanhã (Museum of Tomorrow) saw more than five thousand people take advantage of the commemoration of its first year, which included free entry on Sunday, December 18th.

He has been selected for his “unique vision and ability to transform cities through impactful design" as well as the breadth of his work.

Calatrava’s monumental design, chosen out of six proposals from competing firms, is influenced by the natural forms of the lily and evokes the shape of a minaret, a distinctive architectural feature in Islamic culture.
